Tommorrow I'm speaking at the International Herpetological Symposium (IHS) which is taking place this year in my current hometown area of Nashville, TN.

I'll be presenting some notes on keeping Abronia in captivity and highlighting some of the projects we've taken on to protect habitat in Mexico for both Abronia and Ctenosaura.  I'm new at this reptile lecture thing, but I have to admit I like it.  I have only ever done one other lecture on reptiles and that was earlier this year in Germany at the Breeders Expo Europe in Rheda.  It's a great way to meet other people in the herpetologist community and promote ideas which are important for the animals.  So tonight I'm reviewing slides and prepping myself to compress my content down to the 45 min. time slot.  My goal will be to get through the lecture without having someone fall off of their chair out of boredom.  Later tommorrow I'll have a couple friends over to see the breeding group we have here at my house after the meetings, since they are in town from different areas of the US.  It's late and I need to sleep so shutting it down for now.

My web designer Shawn Bomer is putting in some serious hours developing the content and structure of our Abronia forums and those should be up and running really soon.  He is a very talented guy and has a knack for this kind of work which is great because I don't really have the time to tinker with it and make it work right.  I hope to have the forum rolling tommorrow...just making some adjustments to the image upload tools, and formats, etc.  I'm really looking forward to seeing the International community come together once the forum is built out and ready to go.  I know we will generate some great dialogue around captive husbandry and conservation for Abronia and a few other rare lizard species.

 Good night all,

 JW
