Lygodactylus williamsi
these brilliant little blue geckos from Tanzania, need our captive husbandry expertise because they are from such a small range and are vulnerable to habitat loss in their native locality. |

Egernia depressa, Egernia Stokesii, Egernia hosmeri, Egernia...?
uncommon in the herpetoculturist community outside of Australia, and with their low birth rates, these lizards merit special consideration in husbandry if we are to manage them for future generations |

Cordylus cataphractus
Endemic to South Africa and on their list of "protected species" because of potential population threats in the wild...this is a good subject to be targeted for captive assurance colonization because it has been succesfully kept and bred through generations, unlike its larger and more rare cousin, C.giganteus, which has not done well in captivity over the years. |

Barisia
another endemic of Mexico and like Abronia is in the Anguidae family, but this genus is more terrestrial in its habits than its tree climbing cousins. A great subject for captive assurance colonization outside of its native habitats which face increasing pressures in Mexico. |

Naultinus geckos
native to New Zealand and under considerable pressure in their habitat from introduced super-predators like rats and feral cats, these geckos are in decline in nature. The Europeans are doing the best job of developing captive assurance colonies right now to preserve these animals for future generations, but low birth rates are a challenge for this genus. |

Tiliqua rugosa - the Australian shingle back skinks
Yes, this group needed its own forum too...after getting a few requests it makes sense. They have another low birth rate situation and are rare in captivity so merit special attention. |

Chinese Crocodile lizards - Shinisaurus crocodilurus
With a very small wild population existing in China estimated to be less than 1200 individuals, this species should be high on the list for organized captive production efforts to ensure its survival for future generations. |
